Renewable Heating System 2009
This 320 sq metre concrete build house completed in 2009 has an 800 litre tank in tank combination tank which is heated by a 15Kw ground sourced heat pump using a horizontal collector array and 10 sq metres of in-roof flat plate solar panels. Four zones are fed from the buffer vessel: Living zone; downstairs under floor heating, Sleeping zone: upstairs under floor heating, Domestic Hot Water and a towel rail circuit.
By using a
combination the solar is able to contribute to the space heating as well, another advantage of this is that the towel rails can be controlled by the solar and can dump any excess solar heat that may occur during the summer.
